This past August I defended my dissertation proposal, focused on the role of sport in influencing public policy for marginalized groups when dealing with minority ethnic groups, the LGBTQ+ community and gender pay equity.

This past January I attended the Bell Graduate Chair Conference at Carleton University and presented my research on Gendered Socialization and Athlete Led Protests in Canadian and Spanish women's soccer. Looking forward to attending more conferences this year.

My research focuses on the interaction between sport as a social institution and social causes and social movements in wider society. I combine qualitative and quantitative research methods to investigate my hypotheses more in-depth. As a result, I make use of a comparative approach within political behavior.
